A student at MSU is facing serious charges after campus police say he held a knife to the throat of a woman he was living with in a campus apartment.
According to court documents, Garner Bouyer III is charged with assault with a weapon after this happened at the McIntosh Court Apartments early yesterday morning.
Campus police say an argument started between Bouyer and the woman when Bouyer pulled out a fixed blade knife from a room and held it to her throat several times.
Police add the incident left a four inch non-life threatening cut on her neck and this all happened with several children nearby inside the same apartment.
If convicted, Bouyer could face up to 20 years in prison, with 10 more years possible for weapons enhancement.
