HELENA — The Exchange Club of Helena hosted their annual Firefighter of the Year Luncheon.
2020’s Firefighter of the Year is Mark Mitchell. Mark Mitchell has been a firefighter for eight years. He spent four years in Butte before returning to his hometown in Helena
Before all this, Mitchell studied Fire & Rescue in Missoula. His father served as a firefighter in the same department in Helena for over 30 years. Mitchell is happy to follow in his footsteps.
“I felt great. I said I always looked up to my dad,” says Mark Mitchell, Helena Firefighter. “I always thought so highly of the Helena Fire Department and to be able to get onto the Helena Fire Department, be considered firefighter of the year. I mean, that's just a great feeling still.”
The Exchange Club of Helena received a $500 donation from the fire department during the ceremony.
