MONTANA CITY — A Montana City middle school class is remote learning this week out of extra precaution following potential COVID-19 exposure in the community. No cases of COVID have been reported in the school.

Montana City School alerted parents Sunday an individual associated with one of the classes had a confirmed positive test for COVID-19.

Due to the short week , and to give time for contact tracing, school administration decided to move the affected students to remote learning for the school week of Oct. 12.

“If there is a positive case within that class we will have minimized the chance of further exposures. No student or staff member has been identified as a positive case,” wrote Superintendent Tony Kloker.

Montana City School says everyone impacted has been contacted by the health department or the school nurse. If a family has not been contacted, they were not one of the close contacts.

Volleyball matches at the school were also canceled this week out of an abundance of caution in order to allow for contact tracing to be completed.
