A family pet did not survive after a fifth wheel trailer catches fire in Frenchtown.
Mel Holtz, the public information officer for the Frenchtown Rural Fire District tells MTN the fire is believed to have a started in the fifth wheel trailer and spread to the nearby grass.
It happened around 2 p.m. on Friday on Ursus Way.
Holtz says the cause of the fire is believed to be electrical, but that remains under investigation.
Frenchtown Rural Fire, Missoula Rural Fire District, and the Montana DNRC responded.
Crews have the fire contained at this time, but are working to put out hot spots and doing mop up operation
