The Montana side of the Beartooth Pass was closed Friday ahead of a major winter storm forecast for the region.
The Montana Department of Transportation announced the closure, stating the storm is expected to last a few days and the agency will advise the public if and when the pass is reopened.
The highway closure was made 12 miles south of Red Lodge.
The pass is now completely closed. On Wednesday, officials announced the Wyoming side of the pass has been closed for the season.
