HELENA, Mont. — There’s another potential tenant interested in Helena’s former Shopko building. Dave’s Hot Chicken has submitted plans to open a restaurant at 3101 N. Montana Ave.
According to city information, the restaurant plans to have seating for 55 people, and the project is valued at $450,000.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is new to Helena, but not to Montana, there are already locations in Missoula, Billings and Great Falls. The proposed Helena location is going through the city’s review process.
Redevelopment of the former Shopko building started several months ago, prior to that, the building sat empty since Shopko closed all locations in 2019. Plans call for the space to be split into six leasable tenant spaces. Along with Dave’s Hot Chicken, other tenants include Dunham’s Sports, Boot Barn and Sport Clips.
