“Nobody goes to see them until they’re sick. So these guys are fighting it tooth and nail, you know, they’re in the trenches."

It started off with the need of sharing a little bit of good news during these times, and of course to say thank you to those who are fighting on the frontline here in Bozeman against the Coronavirus Outbreak.

“Nobody goes to see them until they’re sick. So these guys are fighting it tooth and nail, you know, they’re in the trenches,” said Sean Ehlert, owner of University Burger.

Like many restaurants across the country, University Burger’s business has slowed down because of the coronavirus outbreak.

“I was worried about our product. I’d hate to throw away food so I was trying to come up with a way to get it out of here.”

Ehlert decided to take some of that product and make lunch for people working at Bozeman Health.

Now it’s a regular delivery service.

“We do 30 lunches. Thirty at a time. Right now we’re currently delivering Monday, Wednesday and Friday to separate departments of the hospital”.

The owners of Nina’s, The Salted Carmel and Urban Kitchen in Bozeman have joined forces with University Burger, and will be delivering food to the hospital on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“Restaurants band together to be ground level to assist and help any way they can. And food is always one of those comfort things that help people feel just a little bit better,” said restaurant owner and chef, Joe Romano.

The group of restaurant owners now call the program Food for the Frontline.

“If it puts a smile on somebody’s face and makes their day just a little bit better, that’s what we’re hoping to do,” said restaurant owner and chef, Megan Romano.

You can donate to Food for the Frontline by donating directly to the restaurants.

The owners of Urban Kitchen are also giving away free dinner on Saturday evenings for service industry workers during the pandemic.

You can reserve your meal by calling David at 406-577-2003.
