Goodbye summer! Last weekend was full of sunshine and warm temperatures. Billings had a record high of 95. You won't be seeing weather like that anytime soon. Technically autumn is still a week away but Montana will certainly be in a more fallish pattern this week with cooler temperatures, rain showers, wind and mountain snow. The first storm will move through western Montana on Tuesday morning with rain and some mountain snow above 8000'. The rain will move through central and eastern parts of the state later in the day. At the same time, areas near Helena and Great Falls will see the rain gradually end and the clouds part through the mid to late afternoon. Highs will be cooler, in the 60s. Wednesday will start out dry and partly cloudy, but the next storm will spread clouds overhead in the afternoon. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible late. Thursday will be a cloudy, rainy and cool day. Light rain will fall for much of the state and highs will hold in the 50s and 60s. Friday and Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers, wind and highs again in the 50s and 60s. Sunday will be slightly warmer for the last day of summer, but another storm system will move in late in the day. Wet weather continues to get Montana closer to the end of fire season.
Have a great day.
