A WIND ADVISORY has been issued for areas west of the Continental Divide for Wednesday evening.
After a gorgeous spring day for Cinco de Mayo, a new storm system will rumble through western Montana on Wednesday afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will move through the area along a cold front. Storms will have heavy rain and gusty wind, and the temperature will drop quickly behind the front. As cooler air moves in, snow levels will lower below mountain pass level overnight into Thursday morning. Thursday will be a cool, cloudy and showery day. Snow will fly in the central and southern mountains, accumulating a few inches. This system will slowly clear out through the afternoon. Friday will have another front drop south through the state with showers and a reinforcing shot of cool air. High pressure will briefly move through the state on Saturday with mostly sunny skies and comfortable conditions. Mother's Day on Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy, cool, with a few showers and mountain snow showers. Wet and cool weather will continue early next week.
Have a great day.
