Welcome to the weekend! The recent beautiful, bluebird conditions will carry over into the start of the weekend but it will not finish sunny. High pressure that has been responsible for the sunshine and relative warmth will slowly move away through the weekend. After sunshine hangs on for Saturday, clouds will increase through Sunday with the next storm approaching. Snow will increase through the afternoon and evening mainly in the mountains. A cold front will work through the state Sunday night with a burst of snow in the lower elevations. Monday will be a colder and snowy day for most of the state. Northwest wind will gust up over 20mph at times, so the weather will certainly be a reminder that it still is winter. Snow will not accumulate more than 1-3" in the lower elevations, but storm wind could reduce visibility at times. The mountains and mountain passes will get hit hard again with the potential of up to 6-8" of snow by Tuesday morning. High pressure will then move in again for clearing skies and warming temperatures from Tuesday through Friday, which pretty much gets us to the end of February. Spring is literally right around the corner...
Have a great weekend!
