Fire weather conditions will improve somewhat along with the air quality this weekend. However, wildfire danger is still very high. A cold front that moved through Montana on Friday with wind and some cooler temperatures will take the edge off of the fire danger for Saturday and Sunday. Over the weekend the wind will be lighter, the temperatures cooler, the humidity higher and scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through the state. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny. Highs will be in the 70s to around 80 both days. West winds have blown in some cleaner air for the time being as the air quality has increased. Although the fire weather will improve, the forests are still very dry and a wildfire could take off quickly. Please use caution out recreating this weekend. The storms move out for Monday, and temperatures will gradually increase each day next week culminating late in the week with highs up near 100. Thursday and Friday will be very hot, and the fire danger will continue. Some cooler air will move in for next weekend.
Be safe and have a good weekend.
