High temperatures today will be hotter than yesterday, but Thursday and Friday will be the hottest days this week. A HEAT ADVISORY will be in effect starting Thursday afternoon until Friday evening for the Northern half of Montana. Highs on Friday could break new all-time records, so if you’ll be spending time outdoors, make sure to stay hydrated!
A FIRE WEATHER WATCH has been issued starting Friday afternoon for North-Central Montana. After a hot and dry week, winds will begin to pick up Friday and Saturday, elevating our fire potential.
In addition to the heat, air quality will likely worsen through the end of the week. High pressure in our area will make it difficult for smoke to clear, causing haze and air quality concerns through Friday. As a front comes through on Saturday, winds will pick up, and clearer conditions will prevail.
