Mulitple new wildfires sparked over the weekend, due to lightning strikes from storms Saturday night. This morning, many locations in Montana have air quality levels at the “Moderate” or “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” level. Smoke from wildfires in Montana as well as other areas in the Western part of the continent is contributing to these hazy conditions.
The temperatures today are remarkably cooler than they have been lately. After the record-breaking heat and triple-digit temperatures this weekend, the highs today might almost feel chilly. Temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 70s today.
This week, high pressure will build over our area, resulting in a gradual warming trend until Thursday. Friday, large portions of Southern and Central Montana will see thunderstorms and lightning, and temperatures will cool again.
Have a great day.
