Halloween Looks Sloppy and Spooky for Some Areas

A new storm will move into the state for Halloween.  A mix of rain and snow will fall in western Montana, with central Montana slightly drier, and eastern Montana actually having a nice day with sunshine.  Every location will be windy with average to below average temperatures.  A sloppy mix of chilly rain and wet snow will fall through the afternoon and evening closer to the Continental Divide.  Temperatures will be chilly, generally in the 30s and 40s.  Highs will top 50 in eastern Montana where there is more sunshine through the day.  Sunset is around 6pm and twilight ends near 6:45pm, so please be careful driving in the dark and sloppy conditions, as many youngsters will be out and about.  Thursday will be cloudy with another round of rain moving through western Montana late in the day.  Wind and cool temperatures will continue.  Friday a storm will move across southern Canada just to the north of Montana.  It will spread rain and wind through much of Montana.  Snow levels will climb to near 8000′ as warmer air moves in.  Friday night, the storm will drag colder air in that will change rain over to snow by Saturday morning.  Saturday afternoon will be fairly quiet before another storm moves in Sunday.  Rain and wind will fly again, but snow will spread through the state by Sunday evening as another colder airmass moves in.  Areas of snow will continue into Monday.

Don’t forget Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend.  We all get an extra hour of sleep Saturday night.  Sunday evening will turn dark by 5:30pm.  Ouch.

Have a good day.
