Frosty Friday Followed By Sunny Saturday and Sunday

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for almost the entire state of Montana.  This will last until 9 pm Friday evening.  Mixed frozen and liquid precipitation, along with falling temperatures, will create difficult and potentially dangerous travel conditions today.

We hit our high temperature for the day at midnight- a cold front moving through Montana will drop the temperatures throughout the day.  A cold front moving south through Montana is the reason for this temperature drop.  Along with this cold front comes precipitation- rain, snow, and a mix in between the two.  Rainfall will dominate the lower elevations this morning but as the cold front barrels through, that rain will transition to snow, and any liquid water on the ground will turn to solid.  It’s going to be a slick drive home from work this evening. However, this front is moving quickly and will be out of here overnight.  Saturday and Sunday will be much sunnier, but the chill will stick around.  Things start to warm up again next week as we head into the holiday Thursday.

Have a great weekend.
