The inversions are coming to an end this week, and winter weather will return. Thursday and Friday will bring the beginnings of widespread, heavy snow to Montana. The weekend will calm down briefly- snow will taper off on Saturday morning before beginning again Sunday afternoon. This snowfall will also be accompanied by a Canadian cold front, resulting in significantly cooler temperatures on the plains and in the valleys.
