Here Comes The Snow

and last updated

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for most of the state.  This will stay in effect until early Friday morning.  Additionally, there is an AVALANCHE WATCH in effect for the following areas: Swan Range, Flathead Range, Whitefish Range, and Glacier National Park. Avalanche danger is expected to increase this weekend, as heavy snowfall accumulates over a weak base.

Snowfall is moving through the state today, kicking off a wintry weather pattern that will last through next week.  While this first round of snow will taper off by Friday afternoon, there’s more coming this weekend.  Warmer air pushes north this weekend, resulting in slushy, wet snow for Saturday and Sunday.  As colder air moves back into the picture on Monday, the snow will be a little drier.  Next week, another significant snowfall event will move through on Wednesday.

Enjoy the snow!
