Winter Is Not Finished With Us This Week

The snow may have moved out, but it’s not quite the end of winter weather just yet.  A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for central Montana again today, but not because of any fresh snow- the concern for today is high winds and blowing/ drifting snow.  Additionally, a WIND CHILL ADVISORY has been issued for eastern Montana, where wind chills have approached 30 degrees below zero this morning.  Avalanche danger is high in the backcountry, so there are a few AVALANCHE WARNINGS in place in western Montana.

The snowfall has moved on, and now we’re primarily concerned with winds and blowing snow.  Tomrrow, the chance of snow will return to the low elevations, but it will be much lighter than yesterday’s event.  Sunday, a Canadian cold front will move south into the Treasure State, bringing plenty of snow and colder air into our area for the beginning of next week.

Have a great day!
