The Helena Valley is off to a warmer start today after over a week of inverted air. However, areas just north of the Capital are significantly colder due to a stationary front keeping cold air to the north.
Another round of widespread snowfall is already beginning to move through Montana. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect today for a large portion of the state. Additionally, a WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for the northern Rocky Mountain Front. Snowfall will be heaviest along the hi-line and in northwest Montana, while the Helena valley won’t see quite as much.
The snow will move out just as quickly as it moves in. By the evening, things will clear up, and we’ll briefly see the sun on Thursday before the next round of snowfall arrives tomorrow evening. The weekend will bring more chances of snow along with cooler weather.
