The first weekend of April will have a little bit of everything: sun, clouds, showers, isolated thunderstorms, mountain snow, and a lot of wind. Showers will pepper the state at times through the weekend, with periods of sun as well. It’s spring in Montana! A few snow showers will fly over the higher terrain as well. Overall, temperatures will be mild with highs in the 50s and 60s. One thing that everyone will have in common is stronger wind than we’ve seen in a while, with gusts up over 40mph especially off of the Rocky Mountain Front. While the potential of a thunderstorm is slim, there have been a few rumbles around the state over the last few days. If thunder roars, head indoors. Next week will start off fairly quiet on Monday, with just a few mixed rain/snow showers early on. The rest of Monday will be partly cloudy. For Tuesday into Wednesday there is potential for a colder, snowier system. Right now, that storm looks to be heavier just to the south of Montana. However, snow is likely in the southern part of Big Sky Country especially south of I-90. This storm will likely spread snow showers into central and even northern Montana Tuesday into Wednesday.
Have a great weekend!
