Weekend Weather Features More of Everything

and last updated

This year, Montana gets a real spring.  Showers of rain, snow, graupel and hail have peppered the state the last few days.  In between the showers has been periods of sun as well.  This weekend will continue the trend of active, progressive weather.  The bookends of the weekend will be nicest, with sunshine early Saturday and later Sunday.  In the middle of the weekend, clouds, wind and showers will increase through much of western and central Montana.  Precipitation won’t be too heavy, but several inches of snow could accumulate in the mountains above 6000′.  If you’re planning on being outside this weekend, be prepared for some of these changes that can happen fairly quickly if a shower moves through.  Next week will start off quiet with increasing clouds on Monday.  There is potential for a larger storm system that will bring heavier rain and snow to much of the state on Tuesday.  This storm will move out leaving mixed rain-snow-thunder showers and sun on Wednesday and Thursday.  A BIG warmup is likely for next Friday and Saturday, with highs warming into the 60s and 70s.

Have a great weekend!
