Memorial Day Weekend Has It All

Some sun, thunderstorms, mountain snow, soaking rain, wind, warm temperatures, cold temperatures and maybe even the kitchen sink will make appearances this weekend.  It’s Memorial Day Weekend in Montana and everybody wishes for picture-perfect weather but then there’s the reality – this time of year is the wettest historically.  This weekend will not be much different than the average Memorial Day Weekend with a variety of weather, but some areas will be a little nicer and warmer than other areas.  If you plan on being outside for an extended period, whether you’re recreating on a lake or mountain please prepare for changing weather conditions.  Partly sunny skies could quickly give way to thunderstorms with heavy rain and rapidly falling temperature.  Sunday is likely the stormiest day.  Memorial Day will start out wet and cool for central and southern areas, but sunshine will increase from north to south through the afternoon with the storm sinking south.  After the holiday, temperatures will warm but more showers and thunderstorms are likely through the end of May.

Have a great weekend.  Be safe.
