Severe storms on the horizon this afternoon

Another round of severe weather is headed for Montana today.  North-central Montana, including Helena, Great Falls, Lewistown, and Havre have been put under an “Enhanced” risk of severe thunderstorm development.  This could mean hail, gusty winds and potentially a brief tornado. Storms will strengthen as they move northeast through the state, meaning that the strongest thunderstorm activity will be along the hi-line.

Thunderstorms remain in the forecast for the rest of this week, although the potential for severe weather will lessen.  Friday and Saturday, a few pop-up thunderstorms could move through, but actvitiy will remain isolated.  The low-pressure system to our west will keep our weather unsettled with chances for thunderstorms until mid-next week.
