An upper-level disturbance and cold front will bring scattered thunderstorms across much of Montana today. The system is currently at a marginal risk, simply meaning; isolated severe thunderstorms are possible. A few cells can become severe and produce; hail, gusty winds, and frequent lightning, especially across central and southern areas. Today's temperatures will stay in the 80s for a vast bulk of the state. Aside from a few locations in eastern and south-central Montana, temperatures will trend in the low 90s.
Tomorrow is expected to be an overall dry day, aside from a few spots in eastern Montana. The highs will stay in the 80s.
Looking ahead into Wednesday, it will be another overall dry day. A ridge of high pressure will rebuild over the region and will boost the temperatures back into the upper 80s and low 90s. The wind will be slightly gusty at times. Fire concern will increase, especially with the temperatures warming, dry conditions, and gusty winds.
Thursday, the ridge will track eastward. An area of low pressure will move in and bring a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Always remember, if working outside, make sure that you're taking breaks, drink plenty of water, try to minimize sun exposure, and finally NEVER leave children disabled adults or pets in a parked car.
Have a great day,
A.R.😊
