Critical fire weather conditions continue for the state. Smoke and haze will increase across Montana today as steering winds bring smoke from ongoing fires in California. A cold front will bring strong to severe storms to the region. A large portion of the state is under a marginal risk for storms. The storms will kick off in central and north-central Montana this afternoon. The system will track eastward and will continue into early Friday morning. The biggest threat to today's system will be the erratic wind and frequent lightning. The wind is expected to gust up to 50-60mph at times. The highs will remain in the 80s and 90s.
Friday will be overall pleasant; the skies will be mostly sunny, the temperatures will warm back into average temperatures, and the wind will be slightly breezy at times.
This weekend is expected to be overall pleasant. The sunny will be out, and the temperatures will warm back into the upper 80s and 90s; eastern Montana temperatures will climb back into the triple digits.
Have a great day,
A.R.😊
