The Telegraph Wildfire burned over 700 acres west of Idaho Falls. As temperatures warm, humidity lowers and rain becomes more scarce, fire season gets closer and closer. A rude awakening is in store for some people on Friday morning with a cold front and thunderstorms coming through. Later in the morning the thunderstorms will move through central Montana. Eastern Montana should get the storms by early afternoon. After the storms clear a respective area, the rest of the day will be sunny and breezy with highs in the 70s and 80s. This weekend will be wonderful with sunny skies and light wind on Saturday. Highs will be in the 80s to near 90. Sunday a cold front will move through earlier in the day. Highs will be in the 70s to near 80 in western areas. Eastern Montana will have a little more time to heat up before the front so highs will warm into the 90s there. Not much in the way of moisture will move along with this front, but there will be a lot of wind. This combined with low humidity, please watch the fire danger. Cooler, sunny and windy conditions will continue Monday and Tuesday of next week. There may not be any thunderstorms in the state until late in the week. Montana is about to enter the dog days of summer.
Have a great day.
