Here comes August and here comes the heat! An area of low pressure bringing clouds and scattered storms to southern Montana on Tuesday will slowly move away on Wednesday. A weaker area of low pressure will move into western Montana with isolated afternoon thunderstorms there. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s, hottest up on the Hi-Line where there will be more sunshine. Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs again up in the 90s. Friday, the last day of July will be hot with highs in the mid to upper 90s. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible closer to the Continental Divide in the afternoon and evening. This weekend is the first of August and it will be very hot. Highs will be in the 90s to around 100 both days. A rogue thunderstorm or two are possible Saturday and Sunday afternoon. A cool front will approach later Monday into Tuesday with a slight drop in temperatures but an increase in the wind. Fire danger that continues to rise could reach critical levels through the weekend into early next week.
Stay safe.
