Fiery Start, Fall-like Finish to the Weekend

and last updated

Big changes are in store for this final weekend of August. After the weekend starts out with high fire danger, a cold front will bring much cooler air to the state on Sunday. Saturday's highs will be in the 80s and 90s, Sunday will only touch the 60s to around 70. Showers will be limited mainly to the morning hours on Sunday, and there will be a few flakes of snow in the mountains above 7000'. Another system will bring a few showers on Monday. Another significant switch will occur on Tuesday as wind and warmth are back, along with fire danger. Wednesday will be windy with high fire danger as well before the wind eases up on Thursday.
Have a great and safe weekend.
