Frost on the Pumpkin Ahead of Warmup

Posted at
and last updated

The fresh feel of fall moved across Montana on Tuesday with sunshine and crisp temperatures. An unusually cold airmass for early September will make for another chilly start on Wednesday. Early morning temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s, with some of the mountain locations in the 10s. The airmass will slowly warmup through the remainder of the week. Under sunny skies, highs on Wednesday will reach the 60s and 70s. Thursday's temperatures will be in the 70s to around 80. Friday will continue the sunny stretch with highs climbing into the 70s and 80s. This weekend looks beautiful with sunny skies and highs in the 70s and 80s. An afternoon breeze up to 15-20 mph is possible Friday and Saturday, but for the most part the weather across Big Sky Country will be fairly quiet after all of the recent activity. Air quality will remain good for the next several days, but as the flow switches around to the west and southwest this weekend, smoke could increase from wildfires in California, Oregon and Washington.
Have a great day.
