Grey (Smoky) Skies Are Gonna Clear Up...Put on a Happy Face

Have you enjoyed the sunshine and blue skies? Unfortunately wildfire smoke from California is moving back into the state. High pressure that has given Montana the recent stretch of beautiful, dry weather has shifted. A southwest flow in the upper levels of the atmosphere is steering wildfire smoke back into Montana. The smoke will make for hazy skies on Thursday, but will not stick around for long. The air quality likely will not be affected as the smoke is fairly high up in the sky. A weak front will move through Thursday night into Friday morning which should push the smoke off to the south. Blue sky will return on Friday. The weekend looks great with sunny skies and highs in the 70s. The wind will increase on Sunday which will jack up the fire danger. Warm temperatures, breezy conditions, and of course the dry pattern will create continued high fire danger early next week. Montana may not see any significant precipitation until the middle of the month! So please keep watching the fire danger.
Have a great day.
