Today's highs will be slightly cooler than yesterday, but will overall be a pleasant day. The temperatures will trend in the 70s in the northwest, the 80s in central Montana, and a warm front will keep eastern Montana temperatures in the mid to low 90s. A weak cold front is on track to move through the state. The front is expected to bring gusty winds and minimal precipitation to the state. The wind will be gusting up to 45mph at times in southwest Montana. The relative humidity will be low, the winds will howl, and the warm temperatures will raise fire concern. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for portions of southwest Montana into Idaho. Isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out for central Montana during the afternoon.
Tomorrow the temperatures will be slightly cooler, and the wind will subside. The highs will stay in the 70s and low 80s. The skies will be mostly sunny, and northeast Montana will hear rumbles of thunder.
Sunday will have mostly sunny skies, and a few isolated showers will fall near and over the mountains. The highs will remain mild in the 70s and 80s.
Next week an even stronger high pressure will move in, and the temperatures will climb to the 90s and even the 100s.
Also, remember Comet NEOWISE will peak on July 22-23 when it has its closest approach to Earth.
Have a great weekend, and congratulations to all the 2020 graduates🎓!
