A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for the east side of Glacier National Park into Thursday morning.

It's getting close to Halloween in Montana and this year will be a bit unusual in that it will be mainly dry and mild for most of the state. Some years the kids have to trudge through snow with a parka and snowpants on under the costume. Not this year! While it has been chilly and showery recently, the weather will be a little drier the next few days. That does not mean there won't be some adverse weather. There will be snow around East Glacier and Marias Pass into Thursday morning. There will also be widespread fog along the Rocky Mountain Front down to Great Falls and out the Hi-Line on Thursday. Elsewhere, Thursday could be the only dry day for most of Montana this week, but it will be cooler with highs in the 30s and 40s. Friday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few isolated showers of rain and snow. Highs will hold in the 40s. Saturday is Halloween and most of the day looks pretty nice, just partly cloudy with highs in the 40s and 50s. Some mixed rain and snow showers will start to increase late in the day. Most "Trick or Treating" should be ok with decently comfortable temperatures. You won't need to put the kid's parka on under the costume. Sunday will be more active with mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain and higher elevation snow. Don't forget, Saturday night is when we "fall back" as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end. Early next week will be quiet with mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions from Monday through Wednesday. Election Day on Tuesday should be a pleasant early November day here in Montana.

Have a great day,

Curtis Grevenitz
