The first weekend of August will likely be the hottest weekend in all of 2020.
The monsoon high to the south has expanded northward through Montana all the way up into western Canada.
This strong high will allow temperatures to get even warmer than they've been the last few days.
Weekend highs will generally be in the 90s, but a few 100s are possible especially on Sunday.
Isolated thunderstorms will develop over the mountains and drift down across the lower elevations both afternoons.
Remember to hydrate and find ways to cool off through the weekend.
Monday will feature scattered thunderstorms across most of the state along a cold front that will bring relief in the form of highs in the 70s and 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat and stronger wind on Thursday and Friday will really increase the fire danger then.
Stay cool!
