Hottest Weather Of The Year Coming This Weekend

Posted
and last updated

Yes, it's about to get really hot. The hottest temperatures so far, and possibly of the entire year are likely this weekend. Before we get to that, a weak storm system will produce clouds and a few thunderstorms in southern Montana on Tuesday and Wednesday. Northern Montana will have mostly sunny skies and very little moisture, so it will be much warmer there. The disturbance will move south of the state on Thursday and that's when temperatures will begin to climb across Montana. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible Friday with highs reaching the mid and upper 90s. This weekend, the first of August, will be very hot. Highs will be in the 90s to around 100 under mostly sunny skies. Fire danger will be high. Remember to stay hydrated and seek ways to cool off. The heat will continue into early next week. Later next week a cold front will put an end to the heat wave. Looking further down the road, there is the possibility of more heat building but consistent cold fronts through the middle of August will keep temperatures from getting too hot. So this weekend could be the hottest weather Montana experiences in 2020.
Stay cool!
