Low Humidity & Gusty Winds will elevate Fire Danger

and last updated

A FIRE WEATHER WARNING has been issued for the Hi-Line from East Glacier to Joplin for Friday afternoon.

Today we will have all the ingredients for fire danger, especially off of the Rocky Mountain front where a Fire Weather Watch has now being escalated to a Warning. The humidity is expecting to be less than 20%, west winds will be gusting up to 35mph, and the temperatures will warm back into the 80s and 90s. The sun will replace the clouds, and another disturbance is expected to bring isolated storms mainly south of Helena and Lewistown.

Tonight's cold front passage will bring in cooler temperatures for Saturday. The highs will drop to the 70s and 80s, and a few isolated thunderstorms are on track to move through central and eastern Montana; other areas are expected to remain dry.

Sunday, a ridge of high pressure will bring in clear skies, light winds, and the temperatures will regain its strength. The entire state temperatures will stay in the 80s.

Next week another strong high pressure will move in and bring the heat.

Have a great day and congratulations to all the 2020 graduates🎓!
