Refreshing for August

Posted at
and last updated

After that stormy weekend Montana deserves some tranquil summer weather. Monday and Tuesday have been mostly beautiful besides a few isolated thunderstorms. Overnight lows have been cool and refreshing. Speaking of refreshing, last weekend's storm cleaned out the atmosphere from wildfire smoke in Montana but also throughout the northern Rockies, Pacific Northwest and southwest Canada. Really dangerous fire weather conditions are not expected in the near future but more thunderstorms will develop later this week, and some August heat is also likely to move back toward Big Sky country. Wednesday will be another great summer's day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 70s and 80s. There will be a few more thunderstorms pushing across the Hi-Line in the afternoon. Thursday the thunderstorms will continue to increase in activity as scattered storms will push through the state in the afternoon. At this time these storms are not likely to become severe, but all thunderstorms have their own element of danger. Friday a cold front will drop south from Canada with widespread showers, thunderstorms, clouds and cooler temperatures. This will be another timely storm that suppresses fire danger. The front will clear into the beginning of the weekend with Saturday looking mostly sunny with highs in the 70s and 80s. Warmer temperatures will move in for Sunday and next week, as highs climb into the 80s and 90s. Most of next week will offer some typical mid-August heat.
Have a great day!
