Lots of lightning out there this evening! Thunderstorms will continue to work across the state overnight into the wee hours of Thursday morning. While a few isolated showers and thunderstorms will still be out there in the morning, the trend for Thursday will be improving weather through the day. A few isolated showers or a thunderstorm are possible in the afternoon over the mountains or near the Continental Divide. Highs will be cooler in the 70s to around 80. Friday will be a gorgeous summer day with sunshine and highs in the 80s to around 90. A bit of a west breeze will increase through the afternoon. Unfortunately, the nice weather will not continue into the weekend. Saturday will start out pleasant and warm, but scattered thunderstorms will develop later in the afternoon and evening. Wind will increase as well. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s. Sunday will be a cloudy and much cooler day. Much of central and western Montana will have rain increase from late morning through the afternoon. Temperatures will be much cooler as highs remain in the 50s and 60s. Eastern Montana will be warmer with scattered thunderstorms. The rain will continue through Sunday night into Monday. A slow moving storm system will keep showers, thunderstorms and cooler temperatures around into the middle of next week. More typical heat and lower humidity are likely to build into the area for July 4th weekend.
Have a great day.
