Today is the calm before the storm. A weak ridge of high pressure will return to the state, allowing for the temperatures to climb back into the 80s and 90s. Overall, today will be a perfect summer day, with clear skies, warm temperatures, and light winds. Tomorrow, the beginning of the day will start dry, and the temperatures will remain warm. The wind will howl across the state, and by late afternoon, early evening scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop. A few storms can become severe over portions of central and southwest Montana. Aside from frequent lightning, the storms have the potential to produce damaging winds and large hail. Sunday cooler temperatures, wet weather, and overcast skies will carry us into the beginning of the workweek. With the potential for heavy downpours, rivers and streams can rise and can cause flooding. The most torrential downpours will fall in the mountains. Monday, the temperatures will remain below average, and showers will continue.
Enjoy your day, and congratulations to all 2020 graduates🎓!
