A RED FLAG WARNING/A FIRE WEATHER WARNING has been issued for a large portion of the state until this evening.

A HIGH WIND WARNING has been issued for areas in northeast Montana south of the Missouri River until 8 pm.

A LAKE WIND ADVISORY remains in effect for Fort Peck Lake until midnight.

Today will be a warm day, but that is not all. The wind will howl all across the state. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for a large portion of the region and is expected to expire early evening. The wind will blow the strongest along the northern Rocky Mountain Front, in central Montana, and in northeast Montana. Along with gusty wind, the highs will remain in the 80s. A cold front will pass and bring showers to areas along the Hi-Line. The overnight temperatures will cool to the 40s.

Tomorrow will be almost perfect. The sun will be out, the temperatures will remain warm, and the wind will blow comfortably.

Friday, high pressure will return and will allow for the temperatures to climb back into the mid to upper 80s and low 90s.

Saturday will be another hot day. The temperatures will hit the 90s again, the day will be overall dry, and wind will increase, which will allow for extreme fire danger.

Sunday is when significant changes will arrive. A cold front will cool the temperatures down to the 70s and will bring showers to northcentral Montana Sunday night.

Monday, another front will bring even colder air to the state. Showers will also accompany the front, and snow in the mountains. The highs will cool to the 50s and 60s.

Also, always remember, any fire can ignite quickly and easily, and spread rapidly under these dry and windy conditions.

Have a great day,

A.R.😊
