This first weekend of October will be exceptionally beautiful with lots of sunshine, warm temperatures, and not too much wind, a bit unusual for Montana this time of year. Saturday will be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the 60s and 70s. There will be some wind gusts across eastern Montana up to 25mph, but nothing too crazy. Sunday will be mainly clear with light wind. Most of Montana will have highs up in the 70s. Some places in the state may hit 80 on Monday! There does not appear to be much in the way of cold air, rain, or snow coming to Montana through next week. It's a bit unusual, but we'll have to enjoy it as long as we have it. Things may get a little stormy over Columbus Day Weekend.
Over the next few days, prescribed burns by the Forest Service will produce large smoke columns south of Helena.
Have a great day!
