A HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect for the Rocky Mountain Front and along the Hi-Line as far east as Chester. Winds in this specific location will be extremely strong today- between 35 and 45 mph, with gusts up to 70 mph. Tomorrow, an incoming cold front will bring a dramatic drop in temperatures, along with precipitation.

A WINTER STORM WARNING has already been issued for a large chunk of north-central Montana, in anticipation of heavy snow, wind, and extreme cold. This storm will begin as rain, with snow confined to the mountains, but snow levels will drop late Tuesday night after sunset, when temperatures drop below the freezing point. It'll be a wintry wake-up on Wednesday, after overnight snowfall accumulates. Snow should calm down by Wednesday evening, clearing completely by Thursday. But even after the moisture moves out, temperatures will remain chilly through the end of the week.
