Wet Weekend Putting a Dent in Area Wildfires

It's the weekend and many people want to get outside. However wet and stormy weather will move through much of Montana. Considering the wildfire situation, wet weather is a blessing. Early on Saturday morning through the early afternoon will have some sun and period of dry weather. Thunderstorms will fire through the afternoon, and these storms will be mean. Heavy rain, strong wind, hail and lots of lightning will accompany the storms. These thunderstorms will really increase after 3-4pm and move toward the Hi-Line late in the evening. Sunday an area of low pressure will move right through the state. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur throughout the day. Storms can be strong to severe once again. Between the precipitation, cooler temperatures and higher humidity, the fire danger will really improve through the weekend. Early next week will dry out with temperatures returning to the 80s, but another wet system will move in late in the week. Likely the hottest period of summer is behind us, and some of the worst fire danger is behind us as well.
Have a great weekend.
