Jessica Nelson is a familiar face at KTVH. Nelson initially joined KTVH as the 5 PM Evening Anchor and held this role from 2019-2021. After a brief hiatus from the camera, she took on the role of Public Information Officer for the state of Montana. Driven by her passion for news, Jessica returned to KTVH and assumed the position of Senior News Director in December 2023. Boasting over a decade of experience in the news industry.

During her college years at Washington State University, Jessica excelled both academically, making the President's Honor Roll, and athletically, playing basketball for the Washington State Cougars. She graduated with a degree in Communications: Broadcast News.

Her news career kicked off at KCAU ABC9 in Sioux City, Iowa, where, in just 5 years, she climbed the ranks to become the morning anchor. Interestingly, Jessica's path to love also unfolded in Iowa when she met her husband while covering a news story on road construction—a story that became a chapter in their shared history. During her tenure at KCAU, Jessica held a diverse array of roles, seamlessly transitioning between reporter, producer, anchor, and live interview host. Her versatility shone through as she covered a wide spectrum of events, ranging from high-stakes Presidential elections to the impactful F5 tornado that devastated the town of Pilger, Nebraska, in 2014.

Now residing in Montana with her husband and two young boys, Jessica immerses herself in the state's breathtaking landscapes, enjoying activities like fishing, hiking, camping, and exploring ATV trails.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jessica remains connected to her passion for basketball, volunteering with local girls' basketball teams in Helena. Additionally, she volunteers her time as a Board Member for the Helena YMCA. Deeply rooted in her commitment to the Helena community, Jessica feels privileged to raise her family here and is enthusiastic about sharing the captivating stories that make Helena truly special.
