HELENA — Florence Crittenton Family Services has a new executive director. Kayla Chavez will lead the Montana nonprofit as it continues serving women, children, and families across the state.

Chavez most recently worked as a community care case management supervisor for Benefis Community Care, overseeing a team serving more than 260 people in the Helena region.

She brings experience in social work, program management, and financial services.

"You get to do work that doesn’t just change somebody’s day. It changes generations, and their ability to continue to do that for 125 years is incredible, and I am just really, really grateful for the opportunity," Chavez said.

Chavez says her goals are prioritizing service to clients, supporting employee growth, and building trust with community partners to be good stewards of the money they give us.

Carrie Krepps, the former executive director and now chief executive officer for the organization, said, "The board made the decision to restructure and create an executive leadership level, which then put me in the role of chief executive officer of all three of the Florence Crittenton company, so that is family services, foundation, and training institute."

Florence Crittenton provides residential, community, and early childhood programs for families facing challenges including trauma, mental health issues, and substance use, serving Montanans for 126 years.
