Rolfe was first elected to the commission in 2020. An Army veteran and former state lawmaker, Rolfe says his priorities include addiction and mental health services, as well as preparing Lewis and Clark County for future growth.
“Being the county commissioner for the last six years has been one of the greatest privileges I've ever had in my life,” Rolfe said. “Being able to work with the folks from this great county and help them solve some of the problems that they see and work with them to get things done.”
Brent Colbert, the county’s undersheriff, has spent more than three decades with the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. He says his experience working across city and county departments would serve him well on the commission. His priorities include infrastructure and emergency preparedness.
“I was born and raised here. I've raised a family here. I've worked here for 31 years serving the county, and I think I have the common sense to make the right decisions,” Colbert said.
Jakob Miles works for Lewis and Clark Public Health and served a decade in the Army National Guard. His priorities include affordable housing, public lands, and health and safety.
“I'm a millennial, I’m in my 30s, I’m a renter, I have a lot of experience in rural parts of the state of Montana and in urban places like Helena,” Miles said. “I bring a really well-rounded approach.”
The race remains close as additional ballots are counted.
